Colourful Claire

Don’t play with your food!

I’m guessing you sometimes heard this as a kid. Thing is I’ve never stopped playing with my food 😄 I love decorating so it made me really happy when I heard of a something called colour bombs, produced by an innovative woman called Tobba Marinos. Time to play! 🥳

To make things even better the colour bombs are 100% natural and good for you. These small capsules are filled with powered natural colours, turmeric, beets, matcha and blue spirolina. I’m pretty sure you can get organic food colours in your country as well.

Ingredients

Prosecco (or sparkling water)

passion fruit

organic food colour, in Iceland we get them in capsules and I’m sure organic food colour can be found in other countries.

ice cubes

Indian cress, the flowers – or other edible flowers

Method

Cut the passion fruit in halves.

Add ice cubes to a glass and scoop out the pulp from half a passion fruit into the glass. If you don’t like to chew on the seeds strain the pulp through a fine sieve to remove the seeds. In that case you need the pulp from the whole fruit for one drink.

Add the food colouring and then the Prosecco. Stir.

Garnish with edible flowers or a slice of passion fruit. I used the flowers from an Indian Cress I have in my greenhouse.

Options – The drink is nice as a mocktail as well, then use sparkling water instead of Prosecco. On the other hand, if you’d like a stronger drink add a bit of gin or vodka to the Prosecco. You can also use a bit of mashed mango instead of the passion fruit.
